description

After a drive along the Adriatic coast and the Pelješac Peninsula, one of Croatia’s most famous wine regions, we reach our first stop. Ston is a small town known for its centuries-old salt pans and one of the longest stone walls stretching across the hills above the settlement.

We continue to the Pelješac Channel, where a short boat ride brings us to the island town of Korčula, known as the birthplace of the explorer Marco Polo. Behind its medieval walls lies one of the Adriatic’s best-preserved historic towns, where narrow stone streets were arranged in a distinctive fishbone pattern designed to balance shade, wind, and sea breeze.

On the return journey to Dubrovnik, we stop at a traditional Pelješac winery to taste local wines, including the powerful reds made from Plavac Mali, the grape that has made this peninsula Croatia’s most famous wine region.

Travel beyond Dubrovnik and discover a side of southern Dalmatia where vineyards, stone towns and island legends meet.
