Description
Highlights
From Dubrovnik we cross the border to the town of Trebinje (30 minutes’ drive). We are greeted by the hustle and bustle of the local market, which is rich in home-grown vegetables, fruits, honey and honey products, dairy products (excellent cream, cheese, “kajmak”, cottage cheese!), dried meats of all kinds. A guided tour of the market takes us through a tradition of flavours, we try it to our liking. From here, a local guide takes us on a tour of the city (which is the southernmost city in Bosnia and Herzegovina), full of harbingers of history dating back to the Stone Age. Since viticulture is also one of the traditions of this area, we also get to know local wines in a local, traditionally equipped wine shop. And what else is missing? Only home-made, traditional food, authentic meat, and vegetable flavours will bring unforgettable dishes to meat as well as non-meat eaters. After lunch we return to Dubrovnik.
