The traditional diet of Dubrovnik region was simple, based on goods that sea and land had to offer. One of the most popular dishes was ‘Popara’ – but hard to find on menus today. We have revived it for the most authentic local experience! Completely fresh, simple but of exceptional taste, and straight from the sea to the plate.

If you search the web for what a ‘popara’ is, you will hardly find the right description for popara that is prepared in Dubrovnik area. Dubrovnik’s popara is much more unknown than the traditional one from the continental Croatia, which is prepared from bread and dairy products. Dubrovnik popara hides the stories of Dubrovnik sailors, vegetable growers and the boundless creativity of the chefs. Namely, this fish dish, which also combines up to six types of fish, potatoes and lots of vegetables in one pot, exists in many variations. We dare to claim that our chef cooks the best one.

Highlights 

Our target point is Cavtat – according to the tourism scales the eighth most attractive city in Europe. Not without reason, it is a first settlement in the area (before Dubrovnik) and it is a combination of charm, romance, and playfulness. On the way to Cavtat (20 km) we will stop for attractive views and photo points. Approaching Cavtat, a short winding road will take us to the centre – a great starting point for a walk through the charming streets. We will discover the mausoleum, walk along the coastal circular path and finish with a gastronomic pleasure that awaits us in the restaurant on the Cavtat waterfront. The menu will include a secret greetings from the kitchen, followed by popara, homemade wine, homemade dessert, digestive and, if desired, coffee. You can return by vehicles as you arrived or cut the waves towards the old port of Dubrovnik by the boat. Return by boat:

Return by boat is made individually per the selected time according to the regular schedule of our contractor. The price of transport is not included in the price of the trip, the timetable is handed over to you on the trip! You can decide on the type of return (car or boat) during the trip.
